Slippery outdoor pool tiles

since the pool area outside was renovated the tiles are almost as slippery as ice when wet. My young children know not to run by the pool but does anyone else agree they are an accident waiting to happen? Everybody was complaiming last year but nothing has been done….I really thought they would have been treated by now to make them anti-slip or replaced but it appears not. The old tiles were non slip, I do hope some young or old person does not suffer a serious injury. Who do we approach that did the renovations to make them non-slip like normal outdoor pool tiles? Thanks, Adrian

Hi Adrian, the indoor pool tiles are the same and I had a nasty fall myself in there. The project managers for the outdoor pool renovation was VP Ian Watson ian@hhcare.co.uk and President Paul Cohen paulgreenfields@aol.com You should also email DAE Administrator at felisa@dae-asesores.com

I would also be concerned about children wondering into the pool enclosure as none of the pool gates on the POOL SAFETY FENCE have self closing hinges. I have raised this issue many times and even provided links in Amazon.es to buy them but no-one bothers. Its unbelievable that non slip tiles were not specified in the project plan. Apparently the pools do have public liability insurance so lets wait for the first cracked skull, broken arm or child drowning to see if tile and pool gates will then be looked at. Email DAE, Ian & Paul and please let us know in this forum their response.

Spanish Government

Some people raised an interesting topic in a WhatsApp group about the Government handling of the pandemic and wearing of Facemasks etc: It was interesting and is reproduced here so individual topics can have a history and much easier to read.

REMEMBER, OUR LATRINIDAD OWNERS WEBSITE IS NOT INDEXED BY GOOGLE AND IS A MEMBERS ONLY WEBSITE WHERE YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP AND BE APPROVED.

As far as I’m concerned this is the most stupid and dangerous thing that the government has done up until now. Wearing a mask increases your chances of falling ill as you are breathing back in your own bad air and carbon dioxide and all the normal bacteria and virus that we have in our mouths and that needs to be let out , we will now inhale back in. There is no scientific evidence on thus planet that any government can present to…

La Trinidad Security Mobile Phone

As you probably know, the number of the mobile in security is +34 646 401 027

But did you know this is not a smart phone, it is a just a cheap Alcatel mobile....... this means you cannot send them an internet link to look at, or a WhatsApp message, or tracking of a parcel link, or an image or a video. Seems a shame given our 5 star luxury development has provided security with sophisticated CCTV ....... but in the year 2020 .......not a smartphone !

I have an iPhone 5S that I can make available to Security for €50 . They are about €78 HERE

Does anyone have an old smartphone Security can have ?

Here is an email sent to DAE on May 27th. They replied and basically said that all pool safety and regulations would be complied with before opening.

De: Martin Haynes [mailto:martin_haynes@btinternet.com] Enviado el: miércoles, 27 de mayo de 2020 13:37 Para: Margarita Rygaard Asunto: POOL SAFETY Hi Ms Rygaad It is encouraging to see the pool renovation project approaching completion.    So now I have a few questions about the ever important POOL SAFETY. I thought the logic of having an expensive pool fence was safety.  To help prevent drowning accidents if young children and infants try to wonder into the pool area unaccompanied by an adult.  Or even dogs as I have seen dogs in the pool enclosure befor I notice that once again there are no self closing mechanisms on the pool gates.  I have brought this to the attention of the community and DAE in the past and I hoped with the new pool fence, this important fixture will be included on all pool gates.   If Self Closing hinges had been fitted, this would have been the easy way of course.   Plenty of examples here   https://www.amazon.com/s?k=self+closing+swimming+pool+doors I am not sure if fence gates have child proof gate locks.   Again, an example is here  https://www.amazon.com/s?k=child+proof+swimming+pool+gate+locks I assume that 7 life safety rings will be installed being at least one per pool entry/exit. Also, will a pool sign be erected for both the top and the bottom pool which stipulates Swimming Pool Rules  - especially use of inflatable devices. Finally, can you let me know about La Trinidad community insurance incase of any fatality ? Kind Regards Mr. Haynes PS.  I’m sure you know this - but a couple of links here     http://www.poolsafetyspain.com/Pool-Safety-Products/swimming-pool-accidenttal-death-safety-statistics.html https://urbytus.com/en/swimming-pool-regulations-for-spanish-urbanisations/
