AIR QUALITY

Here in Marbella we live in a Microclimate and from the beaches to the mountains contains the air we breathe.  When there is a breeze blowing from the sea, the air quality is better, but when the air is still and has nowhere to go and is stuck in a basin (like Mexico City), it becomes stale and polluted to the extent where outdoor exercise can be hazardous.  As webmaster of this website, I have had eye operations in the past which have made my eyes sensitive.  I lived in Shanghai for 5 years, my eyes were the best app in the world to know how polluted the air was.  I chose to wear a PM2.5 mask based upon how my eyes felt :(  Here in Marbella, my eyes also react to the air on certain days.  A quick check of the Plume Labs app tells me that I am correct - polluted air.

So, on the loveliest sunniest day when everything looks fantastic, it may be the worst day to be outside breathing in high levels of PM2.5, PM10, NO2 and O3.  Keep that in mind.

Some other cities to compare Marbella with are Sydney, Shanghai, London, Moscow, Amsterdam

and Dubai

Here is the Plume Labs Air Quality Indicator.
